East County Little League

About East County Little League

East County Little League (ECLL) was established in 1989. The league serves the youth of Oakley, Brentwood, Bethel Island, Discovery Bay and Knightsen. ECLL continues to grow and is now the home for more than 850 boys and girls playing baseball and softball between the ages of 5-16.

ECLL is baseball and softball league chartered by Little League International run ENTIRELY by volunteers. We appreciate our ECLL parents and families who graciously donate their time and energy to help make our league successful and who have provided a positive baseball and softball experience to our children.

East County Little League is part of California District 4 and operates under the National Little League rules and guidelines. ECLL has made only slight modifications to some of the playing rules in an attempt to enhance the playing experience for our children.

The following is an excerpt from the National Little League organization:
"Little League Baseball and Softball is a program of service to youth. It is geared to provide an outlet of healthful activity and training under good leadership in the atmosphere of wholesome community participation. The movement is dedicated to helping children become good and decent citizens. It strives to inspire them with a goal and to enrich their lives toward the day when they must take their places in the world. It establishes for them rudiments of teamwork and fair play."
